My Own Take

Dear readers, I just finished watching the Curiosity Team press conference. This is what I believe.

Reading The Stardust Revolution,  I'm convinced that life is a common, natural process, just like formation of planetesimals, stars, galaxies, and so forth. What is more rare is Intelligent Life, we only know of one case, us.

John Grotzinger cannot claim finding organics in Mars; he belongs to a hierarchy, it would've had to be President Obama, giving the news.

I am not a politician, and I do not have those restrictions. Of course, just because I write this post in Noche de Estrellas; it does not becomes true, nevertheless: Here is what I believe.

Already the Murchison, and the Allende meteorites, have taught us a lot about the chemical complexity of the Universe. The issue is: Do we have a smoking gun in Discovery?

The answer is no.

I will ask then, why did they spend so much money, instead of directing the search, as anybody reading Jacob Berkowitz's book would do?

My answer is: Politics.

I just hope we find life outside of Earth before I die!
